Joining us

You may want to join us as a student, member of staff or as a volunteer please see below to find out how we can help you.

Joining our school as a student

If you would like your child to come to The Fusion Academy, you will need to speak to the SEN Assessment Service (SENA). To be considered, your child must have an Education Health and Care Plan that states Communication & Interaction as their primary area of need.

Once a young person is confirmed as a new starter, we will be in touch with parent/carers to arrange a transition meeting. This will give us the opportunity to get to know you and your child and put together an individualised transition plan for them.

For September starting dates, transitions will usually start in the second half of the summer term. We can arrange as many or as few visits as required, building up to 2 full transition days before we break up for the summer. Students will also receive a transition pack with details of the school and their class. This will be similar for those who join us during the academic year but will be more dependent on the timing of admission.

Please note – The Fusion Academy is not set up for young people with social and emotional difficulties that are not related to communication & interaction/ autism or learning difficulties.
