Key Stage 2

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6; ages 7 years to 11 years

Introduction

A Key Stage 2 curriculum rooted in exploration and discovery seeks to foster a love of learning through engagement and interaction. By emphasising inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiences, students can develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Key Principles

  1. Inquiry-Based Learning: Encourage students to ask questions, investigate, and seek answers independently.
  2. Hands-On Experiences: Provide opportunities for practical exploration and experimentation.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Foster teamwork and effective communication skills.
  4. Real-World Connections: Relate learning to students’ lives and experiences.
  5. Differentiated Learning: Cater to the diverse needs and interests of all students.
